At HAD, we recognise that managing finances can be challenging, particularly when balancing multiple bills, benefits, and daily expenses. Our Appointeeship Service provides reliable, professional support for individuals who require assistance in managing their finances, ensuring that essential payments are made on time and financial wellbeing is maintained.
What is an Appointee?
An Appointee is a registered person or organisation - often a family member, friend, solicitor, or a trusted service provider like HAD - who is given responsibility for managing an individual’s state benefits. At HAD, we recognize that managing finances can be challenging, particularly when balancing multiple bills, benefits, and daily expenses. Our Appointeeship Service provides reliable, professional support for individuals who require assistance in managing their finances, ensuring that essential payments are made on time and financial wellbeing is maintained.
Our Process
Referral -The process begins with a referral from the local Council, requesting HAD to act as Appointee.
Agreement - The level of support required and an annual fee are agreed in writing.
Setup - One of our Welfare Benefits Advisors contacts the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to arrange the necessary paperwork and formal approval.
Ongoing Support - Once appointed, we take on the day-to-day responsibility of managing benefits and ensuring funds are allocated correctly.
What We Do
As Appointee, HAD will:
Manage benefits on behalf of the client.
Pay bills promptly and in order of priority.
Provide weekly cash allowances (where possible) for personal spending, collected from our office.
Monitor funds to ensure essentials are covered first.
If benefits are insufficient to cover all expenses, we will prioritise the most important payments. However, we do not provide debt management services - meaning we cannot negotiate with creditors on behalf of clients. Debts can only be paid off in full if and when funds allow.
Accessing Spending Money
We always prioritise secure, traceable payment methods, such as:
Online banking transfers
Cheque payments (as backup)
Cash (only as a last resort or in emergencies)
Clients who receive a weekly allowance are expected to collect cash directly from our office. For security reasons, we cannot deliver money or make cash handovers to third parties.
Costs
The cost of our Appointeeship Service is:
£850 per year (VAT not applicable).
This annual fee ensures peace of mind for both clients and their families, knowing that state benefits are being managed professionally and responsibly.
Why Choose HAD?
Our Appointeeship Service offers trustworthy, consistent support for individuals who may struggle to manage their own benefits. With our experienced team you can be confident that finances will be handled carefully, bills will be paid, and essential needs will always come first.
