Independent Living For Young People
Independence is about making choices and making the best of your abilities to live your life as you want, which will be different ways for adults and children. We have a range of services which aim to support people with developing their independence and confidence. Some of our services are free for Disabled people in Harrow, some can be purchased e.g. using a personal budget.
Buzz Base
Buzz Base is a fortnightly Club for young adults with learning difficulties. We get together to have fun and learn life skills. The aim of the group is to provide young people with experiences that will enable them to form strong friendships and learn important social and practical skills to be able to do things they like independently. The group is aimed at 18-30 year olds. We meet locally on Thursdays Funded by John Lyon's Charity.
Junior Club
Our SEN Junior Club provides opportunities for children with Special Educational Needs and their families from Harrow to meet in a variety of settings where friendships can develop. Over the years this social group have enjoyed a number of outings such as trips to the cinema, bowling, the theatre, pony riding, crazy golf, Whipsnade zoo, Legoland, storytelling workshops and lots more!
Through these activities we can help the children to improve their social skills and interaction as well support their parents/carers to engage their children into the wider community. This group is aimed at school age children.
Cookery Class
Our cookery class runs on Tuesday evening.
